ORGANIC-Based TENSION INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a very successful boutique Music Library that's distributed by Universal and has tons of credits in Big Films, Countless TV Shows, and Commercials!

This is a catalog you want to be in! Please listen to the following examples the Library gave us to get yourself in the ballpark of what they need:

Instrumental Examples

Quoting the Library: "We'd like to hear tense and building cues made with organic sounds. Oftentimes, these types of Cues feature strings (staccato, pizzicato, etc.) as they work great for tense moods. That said, while strings-only tracks are fine, we're also very interested in Cues with a wider range of organic instrumentation, so add your own touch to it. For example, a Cue could start with small wood percussion or piano patterns, etc, and strings could join later as a supportive element. The tracks also need to be background-friendly. The references are great examples in this regard: They sound full and warm, yet they don't have all those nasty mid frequencies that strings naturally have – they're all filtered out during mixing. Dynamic EQs, multiband compressors, using different reverbs, etc. are very handy techniques to reach this goal."

Please submit well-composed Instrumentals that could heighten the mood of tense scenes in movies and TV shows. Craft your Cues around one clear motif, and layer instrumentation in and out as they progress to create a sense of forward momentum and dynamics. Your production and any and all virtual instruments you use should be fresh and high-quality.

All submissions should be about 2 minutes long, give or take. Good edit points and non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings are required. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

First, you should definitely make the track 30 second shorter, then I felt the drums were much drier than the other instruments, and therefore felt not in the same room. Also, was wondering about those drones/risers/FXs and tinkling/shimmering sound: are those made from organic instruments?

Instrumental cues aren't my thing. Though, I love the experience of the track, very ghostly and marching strong. I agree with Marco, the drums are a little off. I am not getting a feeling of impact from the drums, like I did with the other pieces within the track. I believe, the drums could be louder and a bit less stiff. Amazing track, Timothy. Take care.

Good point this was actually created for a different brief. It's, a bit long for this one.

The drone is a string pad, the risers are synthetic though. The tinkling is heavily processed bells.

Pleasure Do you have any strings riser in your sample library arsenal? Or perhaps you could make one yourself? Just to be on the safe side of using organic elements only as requested. Are the bells organic?

Hi Tim.

I'm not familiar with the genre but initial impressions are you need to give the tension time to build as you add a new element. The effect is I felt more anxiety than tension.

Think the base track is good but maybe stretch out the sections and trim down a bit. Think about the piece playing in a movie, maybe someone hiding... you would want the piece to start slow and build to a crescendo.
