They are certainly not and your own post was quite timely which prompted my reply on there. Service those great libraries as best you can.Susanstunes wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 7:38 amAnd ironic we were just on this subject of all libraries are not created equal!

Hi Mark,
You deserve the success. You truly understand this sync business and work hard at it.
Thanks for sharing your experience and answering my questions patiently when I was starting out....I am sure I drove you a little crazy as others did also

Interesting. Thanks for sharing Mark. Sounds like you're cranking out cues at a very impressive rate. I'm curious when you say 100 cues produced do you mean from writing to submitted final master? If so, at 2 finished cues per week for 2 years straight that's quite the pace. I'm lucky to get 1 finished per week.

Congratulations on your success! You’ve continued to get placements despite delays in this industry caused by the pandemic.
It’s encouraging to see posts like this.
Thanks for the link, as well. Your production is stellar. Congrats on that, too.
Could you tell me what piano and string VSTs you like to use? I’d love to know.
Thanking you in advance.
Pat

Yes, averaging two completed tracks per week including deliverables - I don't think it's too much of a stretch if you're doing one per week already

Re: Six Year Update
Well, I'll reiterate that I'm impressed. I appreciate your vote of confidence. Maybe I'll be able to work up to that pace with more time and practice, especially if I were to concentrate on genres where most of the sounds are computer generated, like EDM or Hip Hop, but this is the 1st year I've been doing cues, so I'm still fighting the urge to spend as much time on them as I usually do on a regular song. And half of them are done with acoustic instruments which I record with mics, so there's a lot more engineering involved and I gotta deal with noise and editing is more time consuming than dealing with midi. But there are definitely areas I could speed up.cosmicdolphin wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 1:09 pmYes, averaging two completed tracks per week including deliverables - I don't think it's too much of a stretch if you're doing one per week already

Re: Six Year Update
Happy New Year!
Thanks for posting this annual report from your desk. Very interesting to read.
Seems you are doing all of the right things, and your placement rate is up x7!!
Still your earnings has dropped at the same time, can you explain this?
Has the new placements not been accounted for yet, is it smaller placements of some sort, or something else?

Re: Six Year Update
Hey Kolstad. Basically it's the delay between a placement airing on TV ( mostly German TV and some U.S ) and then getting paid by my PRO ( PRS) ...the delay is around 18 months - 2 years from GEMA to PRS ( don't ask me why is takes so long ) so I should start seeing some in the last Qtr of this year I hope.
