Disco tune forwarded thanks to this group!

Post by nicotina » Tue Apr 05, 2022 6:47 pm

Hey, I workshopped this disco tune here about 2 weeks ago, and it just got forwarded. Here is the finished version.

It never would have made it if you guys hadn't set me straight on what I needed to fix. Thanks Paulie, Telefunkin, and Marco! I learned a lot about using strings. The main thing I didn't understand before is that it takes a lot of strings to sound like an orchestra. You pretty much need at least 3 sections, like violins 1, violins 2 and violas or cellos. Anything less isn't very convincing to compete with an R & B Rhythm section.

I'm going to bring tunes here more often...

Vince

Nice Job!
I feel like the drums could have more definition, I think it's the choice of Kick and Snare and the mix that could improve the overall sound.
Otherwise Thumbs up on that one!

Good luck!

Yep, that's disco! You nailed it. My only suggestion would be to bring out the hihat a little more, but I also have a bit of hearing loss... :D

Hope this helps.

Michael
