A root and branch overhaul of how you put your tracks together is required.
I would suggest something like Sync Academy - I don't recall specifically if they have a Dramedy course , or it could be that they've added one.
Or you could book lessons with someone like Dave Kropf over at 52 cues who teaches this sort of stuff. You seem to be fumbling around in the dark a lot at the moment.

Thank you, Mark. We are investigating both Sync Academy and 52 Cues!cosmicdolphin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 10:17 amI would suggest something like Sync Academy - I don't recall specifically if they have a Dramedy course , or it could be that they've added one.

I think you also need to decide where to put your focus. Are you interested in doing vocal songs or cues? The only reason I ask is the one vocal song you showed me had a lot of good going for it-- needed a stronger chorus but very good songwriting. So I'm not sure what your focus is. I would definitely suggest narrowing it down. Songwriting, if you don't produce and sing your own gets very expensive. Writing your own cues at home has the advantage of being independent that way. However, you may have to do an upfront investment in sound libraries.
Best,

What Matt VanderBoegh said about reverb is still the case with the bassoons, they sound like their across the arena, down the hall and in the bathroom
. But seriously, look at the sonic content of each of your voices, they work on their own, but it sound like you took instruments from different libraries and play them together, but they don't mesh.
I can discern the melody as it's used in different sections, but at its heart, there's no "tension then release". For example, create tension by going in one direction a given distance, C E G C, up, then down to the Bb below the upper C. Then create a similar shape, but slightly different notes, C E Ab G. Repeat the first figure for the brain to latch on to, and build tension wondering if the 4th phrase will be the same as the second, but instead, start with the release of the second phrase Ab G then a little more tension Eb E, then the final release Db C. This is what I did in the first 4 measures of my dramedy piece here: https://www.taxi.com/members/uwEIk6EPRS ... the-corner
Have a listen and let me know what you think.

We actually have an idea for that song, Casey, which we are going to pursue.
At the moment, we are learning a lot and having fun with the dramedy attempts as well, so ...

Yes! Thank you!
So far our experiments in this direction have sounded a bit weird, but we're going to keep experimenting!
