Bridgerton scoring Competition entry

Post by JohnV » Sun Aug 21, 2022 5:33 pm

Hi All,

I hope this is OK to post here. I'm entering Spitfire's Bridgerton Scoring competition and I could use some feedback.

Here's my entry

All advice would be most welcome

Thanks in Advance

Wow - It's great , I have to caveat it by saying I don't watch period dramas but wouldn't have batted an eyelid if someone told me this was the real score. I love the bit where the butler delivers bad news.

Maybe you didn't get that far yet but the I feel like something a bit more sweeping for the staircase scene would work well.

Seriously well done though it's excellent.

Mark

Hi John,

I'm a Newbie myself here. I did look at this competition. Who doesn't want £25k worth of Spitfire audio samples eh! However when I watched the masterclass I was overwhelmed too be honest. i'm nowhere near that level of competence! However you clearly are John!

As previously stated As I watched I kind of forgot that I wasn't listening to the original piece as you have blended it so well and have hit all the tempo and mood changes spot on. If I had any constructive input it would be maybe the strings could have been a little more edgy in their sound. Other than that I seriously can't fault it. Good Luck!

Regards
Darran
