Just wanted to swoop in and let you know about some really great opportunities popping up my way recently!
Over the last two months I've been given some really great opportunities to write custom score for a new Discovery+ show (not sure if I can name it yet, so I'll err on the side of precaution), which is an upfront paid gig. The publisher is basically linking me up directly with clips from the show, and I get to score to pic. So cool to be able to do that, and not something I really imagined being able to do this early in my sync journey. All feedback that I have received has been super positive, so it looks like there will be more and more opportunities to come!
On TOP of that, I just a few weeks ago connected with someone that is looking for some custom work, and because of it's unique usage, there won't be much backend money. To offset that though, the upfront consideration fee is 5 figures! Absolutely crazy!
As you can probably figure out, all this started from Taxi! Relationships built, networking established, connecting with the right people... none of this would have happened had I not joined Taxi on a whim a few years back. I'd honestly still probably be sitting with a half dozen unfinished projects on my hard drive wondering if I could ever actually do something notable with my music.
I know everyone's journey is different... but don't downplay the value of consistency, hard work, being available, and going above and beyond people's expectations. Good things come to those who wait... (and work hard in the mean time to up their craft in every possible way).
Can't wait to see you all at the RALLY this year!!! Will be great to reconnect and see new faces as well!
