Fantasy Trailer Instrumental Feedback

Post by melodea » Tue Oct 18, 2022 6:42 am

Writing for this listing TAXI Dispatch # D221018FA. Any comment is appreciated. I love this style but I'm kind of still figuring out all the details and tricks when it comes to producing for that type of request.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY, FANTASY TRAILER-Style INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a Production Music Library with Global Distribution that's landed a ton of great placements in TV Commercials, Sports Programming, and Movie/Video Game Trailers – many of them for TAXI members!

This Company is on the hunt for Instrumentals in the general wheelhouse of the following references:

Disenchanted Trailer

The Lost Girls Trailer

Cinderella Trailer

Although one of the references has some vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this request.

Send them top-notch, Fantasy Trailer-style Instrumentals that create an enchanting, wonder-filled sound and feel that could work well for family-friendly movie trailers. Sweeping motifs, top-notch arrangements, and three "acts" that keep building until they crescendo to a climactic ending are all needed for this request. High-quality Orchestral instrumentation in the general ballpark of the references will suit your submissions best. Your productions need to be polished, and any virtual instruments or sounds you use need to be high-quality and realistic-sounding as well.

TAXI Tip: Don't be afraid to layer up your instrumentation to create a majestic, blockbuster sound! The bigger, the better for these Instrumentals!

Very nice work! Great compositionally, great instrumentation. Writing trailer music is an incredibly competitive scene right now, the bar is extremely high. I think working on the mix is all you need to polish this one up for promotion. Strings sound great to me, I wouldn't mind some more brightness or impact from the percussion. The low brass braaams could use a little more punch as well, perhaps adding another layer or two will help. Great addition of vocals at the end, I suggest some more space/silence after the subsonic boom at 2:35, maybe a second or two, before the string riser starts. Great job overall!

Thanks so much Paulie, I’ll work on these suggestions for sure!
