Piano and strings forward
Hey everyone,
I thought I'd post a fresh forward that came in today.
Here is my cue. https://www.taxi.com/members/larmer
Here is the listing.
EMOTIONALLY UPLIFTING PIANO & STRING INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a Music Licensing Company that's secured tons of great placements with Major Network TV Shows, Films, Commercials, and Video Games. This Company has signed many TAXI members over many years and has garnered lots of placements for them!
They're looking for emotional Instrumentals that could be heard on a playlist with the references below:
"Learning to Drive" by Dustin O'Halloran & Volker Bertelmann
"Awatere" by Ensemble Rivr Dane
"The First Day" by Marcelo Zarvos
Please send well-composed Orchestral and Piano Instrumentals that could help set an overall uplifting vibe and tone in a TV Show or Film. Inspiring motifs, top-notch musicianship, and top-tier arrangements in the general ballpark of the references are all needed for this pitch. Your submissions should feature high quality Orchestral instrumentation paired with piano. Please be sure your productions and any virtual instruments you may choose to use are of the highest quality and very realistic-sounding. If you have tracks that capture the uplifting, inspiring, relaxing, and emotionally moving feelings needed by this request, send them in!
TAXI Tip: We suggest trying to keep your submissions on the simpler side, melodically. Your job is more about establishing an uplifting mood rather than winning "Composer of the Year"!
Submissions should be about 2 minutes long, give or take, and have non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.
This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split all upfront sync fees 50/50. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with other Libraries or Catalogs. Please send as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. All Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023. TAXI # S230207RG

Re: Piano and strings forward
Hi All,
I just had my first forward on Monday. I am a new member and I was curious to know how long it takes to hear back from a library. I know that a forward doesn't guarantee a library will accept anything but I was interested in learning more about what happens after a TAXI forward. Thank you!

You may hear back in days, weeks, months, sometimes years, or never. It's very common to never hear anything back on a forward. The company may already have what they need, not be interested in your particular track, etc. All you can do is write, submit, forget, repeat.prizzi wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 9:01 amHi All,

Didn't want you to think that I wasn't interested in answering you. I saw Casey's answer which was perfect. I need to hear again it as well.
Write, Submit Forget, Repeat. That way you build a catalogue and move forward.

Re: Piano and strings forward
Very nice, Larry! The strings are expressive and really 'breathe' (pun intended!).
