Well last week, on the mid-season premier of Station 19 (a Grey's Anatomy spin-off, ABC and Hulu) they used a song that I co-wrote with lyricist, Taxi member, and wonderful human Amanda West. I produced it and released it as an artist on streaming services in late 2021 in conjunction with a playlist that gets a lot of listenership on a Halloween compliation (Alex Rainbird). Amanda had pitched it to an amazing publisher and this Station 19 placement came in without my doing any pitching - the power of collaboration is bigger than the sum of its parts!
The episode starts with Drowning in the Darkness playing at full volume and continues over a montage for around 2:40! This was one even my parents could (and do) brag about to all of their friends

The big take-away for me was that #1 - the song really fit the purpose of the show. That is crucial over all other things. #2 collaboration has so many benefits beyond the writing itself. #3 I'm really proud that something I produced/mixed/mastered could make its way onto a big, national show. #4 none of this would have happened without the connections and technical improvements that have come about because of Taxi opportunities and education. I'll always be thankful to Michael and Taxi for providing a service to connect musicians all over the world to other writers, musicians, publishers, and the industry at large. Best of luck to everyone here. I will do my best to stay a little more active here on the forums. Cheers!
