is this okay for dramedy

Post by ronnie35 » Sun May 07, 2023 8:58 pm

Hi so I 've been working on a dramedy piece, heres the listing QUIRKY ORCHESTRAL DRAMEDY INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Music Licensing Company that's secured tons of great placements with Major Network TV Shows, Films, Commercials, and Video Games. its called JUST PEACHY AT HTTP://WWW.SOUNDCLOUD.COM/777RD For some reason when i cut and paste the listing the words show up but not the links :? Ron
I' chose the great british bake off to focus on. what I found was there was a lot of space a few notes from pizz strings break repeat so on etc....
NOTE: This Company has signed lots of TAXI members over many years and nailed down lots of placements for them!

This Company is looking for Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

Family Karma (from 4:46 - 5:28)

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (from 3:09 - 3:34)

The Great British Bake Off (from 1:46 - 2:33)

Send them well-composed Dramedy Instrumental Cues with quirky motifs, playful arrangements, and top-notch Orchestral instrumentation that could add light-hearted energy to scenes in reality TV shows. Please be sure to craft your Cues around a central motif and layer instrumentation in and out to create dynamics, interest, and forward motion. Your production should be polished and any virtual Orchestral sounds or samples you use need to be high-quality and realistic sounding.

Submissions should be about 2 minutes long, give or take, and have non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split all upfront sync fees 50/50. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with other Libraries or Catalogs. Please send as many Instrumental Cues as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. All Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Sunday, May 14th, 2023. TAXI Dispatch # D230514QU

Hi...
Hey Ronnie

I cannot find the listing and assume that this is a Dispatch one. Anyhow, from all I have heard before of and about dramedy listings and their references, I would say this is a misfit. It sounds a little as if some people exercised somewhat incoherently their instruments. It is impossible for me to tell a clear hook and I miss a continuous drive throughout the piece. It seems to lack energy.

Production-wise it seems fine. So I would just focus on creating an appealing, quirky melody, and then run up and down different variations of it.
