I found a new show on my BMI statement this quarter. "A Miracle before Christmas", it aired December 22 on the BET Network.
The song is a sultry jazzy version of the Holiday Classic, Jolly Old Saint Nicholas. The music supervisor used the instrumental version. This was co-written and produced with Luna Sparks.
The instrumental version features John D'earth on Flugelhorn and muted Trumpet. What's interesting, is the way they mixed difference sections of the song and toward the end of clip they mixed a vocal from other song ( no idea) over John's playing. Sounds pretty cool. Would have loved to hear Luna singing.
The rest of the band is Jim Howe on Drums, Bob Bowen on Bass, me on Keys, Produced at the Redd Productions Studios.
