I'll probably get a return but...

Post by Casey H » Sat Jun 10, 2023 6:20 am

I won't be disappointed if I get a return because while the song meets a lot of the description, it doesn't have the vibe of the temped in track. The song itself is signed with a great library and sync agent but as we often discuss, a song can be excellent but not right for the listing. But heck, I decided to give it a shot. :D

HEARTFELT SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with Male Vocals are needed for an (up to) $500, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement in an upcoming Independent Feature Film that is currently in post-production!

NOTABLE: This film's Producer used a bunch of TAXI members' music in his last (few) films, and loved what he found so much that he has come back for more!

This Music Supervisor is looking for CURRENT-Sounding Mid-Tempo Songs with Male vocals that could work as a replacement for "Thinking Out Loud," by Ed Sheeran, which is currently temped in.

"Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran

They're NOT looking for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, style, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Quoting the Music Supervisor: "We need Singer/Songwriter tracks with male vocals, electric guitar, medium-tempo, and straightforward, organic instrumentation. Happy songs about love."

Please send top-notch Singer/Songwriter Songs that convey a sense of heartfelt happiness about being in love. Your submissions should have easily memorable melodies, sing-along choruses, easygoing rhythms, and well-crafted lyrics. Current-sounding Singer/Songwriter instrumentation in the general wheelhouse of the reference will work best for this pitch – electric guitar, piano, drums, bass, etc. Your productions should be polished, and any virtual sounds or samples you use need to be of high quality and not dated-sounding.

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and places will make your Songs easier to place. Please do NOT copy the referenced artist or song in any way, shape, or form. Use it as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

The license fee for this placement is (up to) $500, depending on the ultimate use. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Copyright and Master Recordings, plus you’ll also get 100% of the License Fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Copyright and Master Recordings to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Sunday, June 25th, 2023. TAXI # S230625DL
TAXI # S230625DL

I kinda expected something a little different when her head hit the pillow...just kidding. I bet slowed down and not so much space between things (intro twice) this would really be cool. the peppeiness? is surely there now. You wrote the lyrics I expect. Good work Casey
Thankfully, while growing old is compulsory, growing up remains optional!

Thanks! I wrote it all, music & lyrics. Brought to life by the amazing Paul Otten. It's already been well received by a good library and sync agent so it's cool enough for me. 8-) However, with the ref track given for this listing, it's almost definitely a non-fit. Maybe I'll get lucky.

8-) Casey
