Uplifting Moment- feedback on music and title?

Post by itamarerez » Tue Jun 13, 2023 6:23 pm

Hello there,

As a new comer to this forum and Taxi, I have started to organize my music catalogue and upload it to my Taxi profile.
Here is an optimistic and uplifting tune of mine called "Uplifting Moment", it is a temporary name because I'm really bad at naming my tunes... :D
Any suggestions as to a more appropriate title would be very appreciated! And also any feedback on the music would be greatly welcomed!

Here it is. Thanks so much!

Right from the start, it 'felt like' waking up to a happy new day... so, something like you might hear in a coffee or breakfast food ad:

Happy Awaking
Morning Coffee
New Day
Fresh Start
Good Day (or G'Day!!)
Fresh Morning

Hope those help.
Cheers!

PS: Having lived in Bremerhaven (long ago) I was listening to your Bremen concert on YouTube (from 2022).
Top shelf 'world-class' stuff; but you must already know that.

Thanks so much Peter!
Loved your suggestions. And thank you for checking out my YT, appreciate it!
Listened to some of your Soundcloud tracks, loved it, top level no doubt :)
I don't know Bremerhaven but guess that it's not far from Bremen ;)

Anyway, great to connect here!

You're welcome - I'm interested to learn what title you end up choosing.
TBH - the 'top level' stuff in the Funsongs Music productions come from the great hired-pros I've managed to be-friend (a lot in Nashville).

Bremerhaven (was still West Germany when I was living there), is the big shipping port about 30+ miles north of Bremen, on that lumpy autobahn (LOL).
I was in my first rock band there as a teenager, and got to see Jimi Hendrix's last concert on the isle of Fehmarn. See - I wrote "long ago" - and it was.

Connecting via TAXI, the Road Rally, these forums boards, and even TAXI TV - has resulted in fun collaborations & friendships (like with Andre Stepanian).
Even if not for the music - I hope your experience will likewise be very FRUITFUL, in every sense of the word.

Cheers!

Hi there, and welcome to Taxi. Your track is lovely and extremely well played. I have just a couple of suggestions that might help its use for sync.

Percussion - if you turn the track down so you can barely hear it the percussion pokes through above the rest. Bearing in mind that most sync uses are under dialogue and are quite low it might be worth dialing back the percussion just a little.

Development Arc - editors can loop sections (and that's helped by including edit points in your track), so rather than providing a repeat of the A-section you could give them a variation or development of it the second time around. I was imagining a subtle bass layer in that the second A-section for fullness and variation, but I'm sure you'll have better ideas.

I really like the track though and wish you well with it. I'm sure it'll be snapped up for an appropriate listing.
Thanks so much for the feedback, it is very very helpful. I will definitely check the links you submitted!
Appreciate you taking the time to post your thoughts and suggestions here and nice to meet!!
Glad you liked the track!

Best, Itamar

Nice track! Yes I am sure we have all been there when we started and loaded up tracks to Taxi that we had in out folders to submit but it is best to write for a certain listing when you see fit or a totally new genre that is not your forte, either way when you post here make sure you post the listing(with the ref tracks) as well and your track that you are working on for further guidance, more people will respond and sooner when it is for an actual listing ,if you want people just to hear your track and it is not for a listing then just post it in the "Shameless promotion" and say "not for a particular listing" "what do you guys think". Watch those videos Graham suggested and also subcsribe to Paulie's youtube channel and of course the endless amount of videos in TAxi's youtube channel.

You have some great advice here form Telefunken, Cosmic dolphin, Paulie, Casey H, MVB, Peter and the list goes on. You already have some great suggestions

If you don't have skin like and Armadillo, you will after hanging out here.

best.

Haha thanks Andre, appreciate your response!
I didn't realize this one is mainly for posting music for listing. Actually was thinking to submit this to the 'Sync or Swim' thing coming up.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. Best!

The whole objective of SOS is to write in the week of from (Monday to Sunday) to exercise writing fast bot submit a track from the past, it won't be accepted.
