Is this Hard Hitting?

Post by bmoBauhaus » Mon Jul 17, 2023 8:57 pm

I was going for hard hitting EDM but I think I landed in heavy metal territory. What are y'all's thoughts? Any comments on the mix are also appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Here's my track

Here is the listing:
HARD-HITTING, EDM/BIG-BEAT INSTRUMENTAL CUES for SPORTS PLACEMENTS are needed by a globally distributed Music Licensing Company that's represented in over 75 countries and has a lot of success landing TONS of Major Network placements every year!

This Company is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

We know that the references are a little dated, however, this Company is not looking for Vintage (or dated) tracks. They want an updated, modern version of this music's vibe, sound, and feel.

"Block Rockin' Beats" by The Chemical Brothers

"Breathe" by The Prodigy

"Busy Child" by The Crystal Method

Although the references have vocals, please send Instrumental Cues only for this pitch.

Quoting the Company: "We want big, 'in-your-face' tracks — nothing laidback. Brass stabs are good. Anything that is big and bold."

Please submit full-throttle, EDM/Big-Beat Instrumental Cues with bombastic rhythms, slick productions, and a TON of "in-your-face" energy. Craft your Cues around a singular motif, and layer instrumentation in and out to create a sense of forward momentum, intrigue, and dynamics. Instrumentation that's generally similar to the references will suit your submissions best — think EDM married with some Rock and Hip-Hop elements. Please be sure that any and all virtual instruments or samples you use are top-notch and modern.

Your submissions should be about 90 seconds to 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Do NOT copy the referenced material in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

Hi there,

There are 2 main issues: 1. this is way to rock and lacks the electronic sequencer stuff from the mentioned 90s bands. 2. the intro is way too long. Intros have to be in a way, that after 2 seconds the main mood, theme and attitude is appearant.

I would go the opposite way: write an edm track and infuse some bad ass rock attitude afterwards!

Good luck
