EZ Drummer - Suitable?

Post by BradGray » Tue Nov 21, 2023 4:23 pm

Hey Passengers!

In watching last nights episode of Taxi TV, one of the submissions had used superior drummer, and the sounds were great! In looking at their products, I noticed they also have the newest edition of EZ Drummer 3, and I was rather impressed at what it can do, and its features.

Question - Anyone else using EZ Drummer, and is it good enough quality for submission? I was rather surprised with the options around it creating grooves based on your own track.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Getting sucked into some of the Black Friday deals, so looking for suggestions/feedback before I do anything rash here. =)

Cheers,
Brad

If you are referring to what Keith L Brant said he uses I believe he said "Superior drummer 3"

Yes that's the one from last night. Same company, differing products. Curious if EZ was just as suitable (though not as feature-rich) as Superior Drummer 3. I was surprised how it sounded. Anything that can speed up the creation process, and forward process would be a good thing. =)

EZ Drummer is a brilliant product, it may not have all of the nuances offered by Superior Drummer, but it certainly gets the job done very well

I've been using Superiod Drummer for a long time and it is stellar. Couldn't live without it.

Most of my Sync tracks feature Addictive Drums or EZdrummer - very viable for Sync use

Thanks for all the great responses!

I'm going to have to look to pick up a copy of one of those products asap! When diving into it, I was surprised with some of the features of EZ (likely in the other software packages too) where you can drag & drop a file and it will generate a groove and feel for you based on the reference file. That could certainly be powerful and time saving.

Belated reply-
I have used Toontrack products since "Drumkit from Hell" "DFH" came out during the Bush Administration...
I have both, Superior 3 and EZ 3, but I always seem to use EZ 3...it has everything that one needs, and I like to process the kit with plugins out in the DAW anyway...and the EZX Drums expansions just sound better to me - Im a fanboy for sure
