Here is a new song titled "Be Yourself". In which genre, does it best fit? Thanks for listening and commenting.

First impression: I could hear this as a Smokey Robinson hit; so where does HE fit? R&B? R&B/Pop?LamarPecorino wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 2:59 pmHere is a new song titled "Be Yourself". In which genre, does it best fit? Thanks for listening and commenting.

Thanks, for listening and writing, Peter. It does have some Pop and R&B elenents. They are often lurking in the shadows of my mind.

Hi Sounds James Taylorish. Very pleasant. Great singer. Nothing earthshaking or surprising.
Thankfully, while growing old is compulsory, growing up remains optional!

Re: New Song- Genre, please
genre sounds to me like seventies adult contemporary, like James Taylor. It's a good sound, and the lyrics make it sound commercially viable, I think.
nice song, Lamar,

If you told me Michael Franks did this, I'd believe you. A very nice track! Retro 70s vocal jazz is what I'd call it...

Re: New Song- Genre, please
Thanks for listening and writing. As soon as I heard the vocals, I thought of Michael Franks too! It gave the track its life.
This is the happy result of following Dean Kkrippaehne's advice to hire a singer rather than to sing the song myself.
Onward and upward!
