Feedback needed on A Capella Track

Post by BrentWhiten » Fri Mar 01, 2024 2:13 pm

Anyone willing to listen to this A Capella cover and let me know of any issues you hear that
may cause this to be returned? Or anything else that comes to mind. Thanks in advance!

Track:
https://s.disco.ac/rehxxqvjrhjq

Listing:
SOUTHERN GOSPEL A CAPELLA COVERS of the Song "FISHERS OF MEN" with Male or Female Vocals are needed for an (up to) $1,000, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement in an upcoming Feature Film that's currently in post-production!

This Supervisor is looking for Covers of this Song which is currently temped in:

"Fishers of Men" by Rhonda Vincent

QUOTING THE SUPERVISOR: "I need A Capella versions of this song. No instruments, just vocals. Preferably a small vocal ensemble. Male, Female, or a combo could all work. Needs to be the same tempo and vibe as the reference. Southern or Country twang is needed. Nothing with too much R&B or soul."

Please submit your Southern Gospel A Capella versions of the Song "Fishers of Men"! Your submissions should include traditionally Southern vocal deliveries, excellent pitch, tight vocal harmonies, and a similar tempo and vibe to the reference! Do NOT submit anything with instrumentation, and DO NOT alter the lyrics in any way!

Your submissions should be about 1 to 2 minutes long, give or take. Broadcast Quality is needed.

The license fee for this placement is (up to) $1,000, depending on the ultimate use. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Master Recording, plus you’ll also get 100% of the License Fee.
Thanks!

Hey Brent,

I think your version is great. Personally I loved it.

I think you nailed this aspect .. "Southern or Country twang is needed. Nothing with too much R&B or soul." traditionally Southern vocal deliveries.

I did not listen to the ref track, but I assume you stayed close to vibe and same tempo/lyrics.

Dean

Sounds great to me!
I would just easy the reverb a bit.
Good luck!

Okay great! Thank you! Yes I had that little "nudge" as well that
told me... "maybe a little too much reverb"...
Thanks for listening and for your comment!
Thanks!

Gorgeous harmonies there, I really like those! Great job, but I do agree that maybe dialing back the reverb a hint might be a good move. I'd be pretty confident of a forward, so best of luck for a deal.
Thank you Telefunkin!
Dialing back the reverb!
Thanks!
