Another Road Rally Collab Success

Post by Casey H » Fri May 24, 2024 6:22 pm

At the 2023 Road Rally, I met an amazing artist, Tiffany Sayers. We talked about collaborating. Not that long after, I send her lyrics for a song called "Rebound Lover". She came up with the melody and we worked together on lyric changes and some re-structuring. I knew we had a good one!

We needed a great producer, so I brought in the one and only Greg Carrozza as producer. I got to know Greg over the past few years (rally and forum and Taxi friend recommendations), and we've created a number of successful co-writes. (One earned a $3K sync!)

Relationships from the road rally are great. Every year I meet new collaboration partners. IMO, networking with your peers is the most important part of the experience, in addition to the learning. Of course, people do make A&R contacts now and then, but I always advise people not to make that your "make or break" goal for the rally. Meet the other members and attendees!

We recently signed the song with one good Taxi friendly library and a really solid sync agent. Another sync agent is seriously considering it and it's in that long "C" queue. Just signing with that library and sync agent makes it a Taxi success already! :D

Thank you Taxi, Tiffany, and Greg! And yes, this will be reported to Taxi as a success story for their newsletter.

Best,
:D Casey

Well done & Congrats, Team.
This is one of those productions that reminds me of the school-of-thought:
"Your best 5-min. song is one that's 2:30 and gets the listener to hit 'replay'."
Y'all delivered a strong, captivating song that gets right in, and is totally complete - without giving way to 'lag spots' - in 2:29.
"..that's the way - unh-hunh unh-hunh... I like it - unh-hunh unh-hunh..."
:? :) :D 8-)

At our home jam last night someone said - (while keeping track of the times we'd play parts of a tune):
"There are 3 kinds of people in the world: those who can count; and those who can't."
:? :o 8-)

That's why we just say 'Y'all'... that way we're covered. :P
