I'd seen the quote and associated pushback in my *oogle news feed in the last couple days. Without defending Spotify, I can see that the CEO's comments can be taken out of context. Most of the content his comments refer to are podcasts, not musical production projects. I can imagine that if I were to set up a microphone and record an hour of drivel every week, the cost of creation is indeed close to zero. How is Spotify capable of gauging the production value of all the content that gets uploaded every day?

IMHO Spotify as an entity must be considered bottom of the barrel due to all the zero-value content. As artists, it is up to us to find an outlet that conforms to our needs and our values. 'Twas ever thus...

Discussion is always a good thing.
