Good point, Marco! There are quite a few other reasons people leave Taxi and then come back (or don't come back). But as for me personally, Taxi might as well offer me a lifetime membership option, as I'd buy that in a heartbeat!

Virtually every Film/TV placement I ever had was in some way because of a Taxi relationship-- co-writes, WFH productions, WFH vocalists, etc. Everything was born out of meeting people on the forum and at the rally. Forwards played a part but it's the networking and relationships that were the really important factor.

How could I possibly NOT renew every year for $199?

Thanks guys! I always tell people there's nothing special about me or my abilities (DEFINITELY not my abilities, lol), it's just that I stuck to my goal long enough to see the results, and am still sticking to it to this day. As my continued Taxi membership shows!

I truly think that anyone with a modicum of talent can succeed in this business as long as you keep grinding, keep learning, keep putting in the work, and keep pumping out the tracks. And most importantly, keep renewing your Taxi membership. I've seen (as have all of us regulars here on the Forums and at the Road Rallies) countless people jump into this world expecting instant success, and when they don't get it they decide Taxi is to blame and so they quit. Or, we've all seen others who were lucky enough to land some early success then decide they no longer need Taxi and try to progress without them. Seems like those people invariably come back to Taxi when they realize it's harder to open all those doors than they thought. (Or, they fall back on their early success and decide that's enough to qualify them as an "expert" so they go on to make a YouTube tutorial channel, LOL!!! I kid, I kid..... kinda).

Anyway, just stick with it. There's no formula for success in this world other than putting in the work, year after year after year.

What he said!!! It is soooooooo....easy to quit and blame the "gatekeepers" when you are frustrated.... Or you can learn and grow and keep at it... I have been the "blame guy" and the "insult the gatekeepers and TAXI" guy.... Trust me, there is no fruit there. Put aside your ego and get to work....LEARN, and ACCEPT the feedback that you are given here on both the forums, and by the screeners. I am pretty sure there is nowhere else on Earth that has this for you

I never knew that renewals for more than a single year are possible. I'd rather have renewed for two years had I only known that this comes at only 150 $/year instead of 199 $ for a single year renewal. I wish Taxi had mentioned that before.
When did you renew? Was it fairly recent? If so, I would contact Taxi and see if they could change it to 2 year renewal and adjust accordingly. I have no idea if they would say yes but definitely worth a try! They are very friendly folks. :D

BTW, if I recall correctly, when you renew on-line you are offered the choice of one year or two.

Good luck!

Wow, Dude!!!!!! You keep being an inspiration to all of us!

I've been grinding for over 3 years now and have had my huge mental battles about whether it's all worth it or not! Even with having 11 contracts under my belt and 200 signed tracks with different libraries!
All that thanks to TAXI!!!
But on the other hand, the financial rewards are minuscule for now! Now I'm in the crucial phase where it's easy to throw in the towel. But reading your lines and also thinking back to my other entrepreneurial ventures in the past I have to bang it back into my head again that in the business world, the first five to 10 years are tough with a very flat curve of success!

So CONGRATS Matt and thanks for always sharing and inspiring!

I too would probably end up paying for a lifetime membership :D Even when I am cold-calling libraries, I am doing that with the knowledge I gained from being a member :)

The 2 year option isn't even advertised anymore, that I'm aware of, so I'm probably putting myself squarely on the Taxi $h!t list for even mentioning it here. This time I actually had to call on the phone and see if it was even still a thing. Turns out, it is (now you all know! The benefits of forum participation, lol), but you have to call them for it. So yeah man, give them a call and see if they can retroactively change that, if your renewal was recent enough. It's worth a shot, at least.

Thanks for this Matt , I have been wanting to renew for the 2 year option for the last 3 years and it only did one year, I will call in next year.
