In your webpage, along the right-hand side, there's a link to "Edit Profile". When you click on that link, at the very top (I missed it when I went looking right now on my profile) is the checkbox to make your profile public. That's it.

Same old problem again. Link not working.
Log out, clear your browser cash, then try the link. You'll probably get Error 404, so something needs fixing, like making tracks public.

It seems a right of passage for every new forum poster to have trouble linking to tracks in their Taxi account, and some never managed to crack the code (but at least Soundcloud links usually work - as long as the track still exists).

I really hope Taxi find a way to make it easier for everyone and end the frustration. :o :? I'm sure ML will be telling everyone at the Rally that the forum is a great resource, and I agree, but its such a shame that every new member's first experience is being informed that their link doesn't work. Come on Taxi!!
Well I feel stupid, my profile was set to private... I think it does that after you have been away from taxi for a while and then renew your account or something? Anyway, sorry about that

Yea, you'll have to contact Taxi. This might be a bad week to do it as they are extremely busy with rally stuff. Next week would be better.

The only time I had the problem you are having is when I put upper case letters in the URL. For some reason, the system only likes lower case in URL. But it sounds like you got that covered.

Here's an idea that you may have tried. Change your member name and try again? Clear your cache and cookies afterwards and test.

:D Casey
Well I feel like a dummy... My profile was set to private... I suspect it happened after not renewing my taxi account for a while and then finally renewing... sorry about that!!

LOL, so I remember Michael talking about a big bag or diaper full of poop on one of the taxi tv episodes, and I think it was regarding mastering??

And so I'm wondering... do you think this mixing/mastering job is just too much? are the drums too pounding?

Would appreciate any thoughts: https://www.taxi.com/members/ocDl4_2KTS ... stmas-dear
The link works now :).

As for the mix/master, the brick shaped track display gives away that its slammed against a limiter. Its a bit much for my personal taste, even for a punk style track, and makes for a fatiguing listening experience.
Like it is, and 100% HI

That's what I suspected....very helpful, thank you. I actually got someone else to master it for me, and I'm wondering if I can fix the Brick by just lowering the volume myself? Or is that something that can only be addressed actually in the mix and master to get rid of that brick shape and be less fatiguing ? I've had other "bricks" that don't sound so fatiguing, but I suppose it also depends on the genre too

If you have the session in your DAW then its entirely possible to adjust. Reducing the volume into the limiter could be all that's needed, although you might then find that you don't like the sound and balance as much, e.g. because the keys and guitars don't suck the drums back out of the way of the vocals and there's less limiter distortion. There's always the danger that every tweak will lead to ten others and before long you'll be completely re-mixing it :D. Its fun though, so why not see what you can do?

More generally, its much more convenient and efficient to master your own tracks for sync. That hits home as soon as a library asks for edits before they sign your track, and then wants alt mixes/cutdown versions/stems. I'd rather not have to ask (or pay) someone to do that on my behalf, especially when the library might come back with another round of edit requests (and that does happen  ).

If you mean just from the Wav file then probably not, if you turn is down you'll just end up with smaller brick as those dynamics have already been squished out of it. You might be able to get some semblance of dynamics back using an expander and maybe a transient shaper but it's probably easier to just go back to the original mix and start over.

For sync you can't really afford to rely on 3rd parties for any mixing or mastering duties unless it's a co-writer and you both have a vested interested in the track. Most of us master within in the DAW session itself as it's much easier to be able to bounce all the different alt mixes required by libraries if the mastering chain is applied as soon as you hit bounce in your DAW. Takes a little practice and getting used to, a lot of us use Ozone as everything you need is in one plugin - It' even has an AI assisted mastering feature that can probably do a better job than whoever mastered your Christmas track, although I prefer to think of it as a starting point that I can tweak it's pretty good most of the time.

You know, I'm really glad I asked for feedback because I think you're right, I need to take my own mastering more seriously. I've been really reluctant to get into it cuz the whole idea seems overwhelming, but I think your'e right, thanks alot
