Hello from Holland!
Hi everyone!
Newbie Taxi member from The Netherlands here. I am 46, a work-from-home father (of four plucky girls) and currently a software developer (for Concepts). My aim is to transition to making music full-time over the next five years (give or take), since music has always been my greatest passion. To that end, I have been learning how to write instrumental underscore (I previously wrote pop/rock singer-songwriter music) and have been absorbing a ton of information about the sync world. Super excited to be hear and hope to learn a ton more when I start submitting my music through Taxi. I also hope to learn from all of you and share what I know where I can.
Cheers!

Welcome, mate.
Just checked your songs, and you definitely got the skills to submit.
Good luck!

Re: Hello from Holland!
Hey Jim - good for you to be posting on the forums. This is a secret ingredient that goes overlooked by far too many aspiring composers & songwriters. The amount of knowledge, feedback, friendships, and collaborations I've gained right here is too big to quantify. So stick around! And I think I've said this before, but thanks for watching my videos as well!
Also, as you could probably tell from my last name, my roots are Dutch. Though, oddly enough, I did one of those DNA / ancestry tests a while back and found that actually very little of my bloodline comes from Holland. The name has just managed to squeak through the cracks all these generations, being passed down through the years despite having very little actual Dutch blood. Funny how that all works!

Thanks for checking my stuff, WSAO! Great to hear it is up to snuff. Hoping to score a few forwards in my first year!
Thanks Peter! Happy to be here and learn from you all and, hopefully, give back too!funsongs wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 11:38 amGreetings & Welcome - from a long-time forums lurker (many collaborations, turning into friendships, have resulted from this platform).

And if you ever decide to explore those roots, let me know - I’ll recommend some cool places to visit!VanderBoegh wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 12:12 pmHey Jim - good for you to be posting on the forums. And, yes, being able to drill into the vast amount of knowledge present here is a great leg up.
