Hey Everyone-
I just stumbled upon this lyrics forum, and noticed that one person posts all of the lyrics....Am I missing something here? Where are the rules for posting, etc??

Welcome to the Twilight Zone where a random lyricist is afforded his own forum. Who knows what dirt he has on Laskow...BradleyHagen wrote: βMon Dec 30, 2024 11:57 amHey Everyone-

Re: This is a cool forum but.....?
This has been explained time and again over the last 20 years.
Once more with feeling:
20 years ago this was the lyric forum. Back then, I was very prolific, often posting a lyric a day or more. One day I woke and this page was called Couchgrouch Lyrics. (That
was my handle back then)
I didn't know why, and I didn't ask. (I did notice the list of forums said "Couchgrouch lyrics by popular demand")
Several years later I went with my co-writer to a Nashville demo studio. The studio was run by an ex-Taxi honcho, Jimi. (I don't recall her last name)
She knew who I was and told me what led to this page. Apparently, my productivity had angered a lot of the other posters, who then inundated Taxi with complaints. (I wasn't causing a disturbance, I just posted a lot of lyrics. You can see that for yourself if you read the old posts)
They considered banning me to appease the masses, but decided to separate the lyric forums. One for me, where I could post to my heart's content, and the lyric forum where others could do the same.
Since then, I've had quite a few indie cuts, although I rarely network, much of them thanks to this page. Two of my recent ones are "Hills of Geronimo" by Craig Bickhardt, and "Lean on my Love" by Elles Bailey.
They're available for download, or they have simple videos on YouTube. I think you'll like them.
If you have more questions, feel free to ask here, or by PM.

"Sign post up ahead reads 'The Twilight Zone'..." - I think Rod Serling used to sometimes close the show with that line.
Doesn't bother me that you're still here.
CONGRATS on the cuts that made it.

Writing lyrics is becoming obsolete with AI. Type in "she left me because I was poor" or "I am addicted to you" or "I have a small weiner" ha ha Within 5 seconds you have an intro, three verses, a chorus, a bridge, and an outro. Most of the lyrics rhyme. They then let you add your take on the lyrics and you can enter comments. BOOM I am almost done with songwriting, but someone starting out has a great tool. IMHO
Thankfully, while growing old is compulsory, growing up remains optional!

But keep in mind that lyrics generated by AI are not copyright-able and therefore not commercially usable. So AI is not making lyric writing (or anything about songwriting) obsolete. It is, however, a nice tool to look for general ideas. Sometimes when I'm stuck, I'll see what it spits out just to point me in a direction.feaker66 wrote: βSun Mar 30, 2025 5:11 amWriting lyrics is becoming obsolete with AI. Also, the lyrics I see generated are generally overly cliche without any real creativity.

It's just my opinion, but I don't think creativity can be either taught or replaced.
Which is why the advent of tech has not resulted in better music, movies, or books.
Tech will never be able to write and compose Over the Rainbow, Eleanor Rigby, or Every Grain of Sand.
Just my view...
PS...I Hate Chip Gaines has a similar view..."You can buy saws and drills, but you can't buy skills..."
