New Industrial track

Post by BradleyHagen » Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:11 pm

Hey Everyone:
Here is the brief:

Lots of INDUSTRIAL/ALT ROCK SONGS with MALE Vocals are needed by a Music Library with a ton of credits in Feature Films, TV Shows, and TV Commercials.

NOTEWORTHY: This Company has been hustling lately, and is consistently seeing some great placements! Now is a great time to build an ongoing relationship with a Company that's clearly on the rise and working hard to land some really great placements.

This Company is searching for Songs in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references we got directly from the company's CEO:

"The Hand That Feeds" by Nine Inch Nails

"More Human Than Human" by White Zombie

"The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson

IMPORTANT: This Company is open to both vintage material (recorded in the '90s or 2000s, give or take), OR recently recorded/produced Songs in the same style as the references. If you're submitting recently recorded material, please be sure to capture the overall sound, feel, and general style of the references.

Please submit original Industrial/Alt Rock Songs with an aggressive sound and lots of intensity! Your submissions should have dark (maybe even creepy) melodies, great guitar work, unforgettable choruses, hard-hitting rhythms, well-crafted lyrics, and loads of influences from the '90s and 2000s Rock scene. Rock instrumentation in the general stylistic ballpark of the references and other similar Songs will work best. Please ensure any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality, genre-appropriate, and realistic-sounding. Expressive Male vocal performances that capture the sound and energy of the era and style are key!

Lyrics that avoid specific names, places, dates, times, brands, and profanity could make your tracks more desirable and easier to place. Do NOT copy the referenced examples in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed. Era-appropriate broadcast quality is needed for vintage material.

AI ALERT: This company does not accept or sign music that has been lyrically or melodically composed using generative AI, nor does it accept backing tracks, full instrumental tracks, or vocal performances created with AI.

This Company offers a NON-Exclusive, 50/50 deal. You’ll get 50% of any applicable sync fees and 100% of the Writer’s share. The Publisher will get 50% of any sync fees and 100% of the Publisher’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this pitch. Please send as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. Please include lyrics! All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025. TAXI # S250122BG

Wish me luck!!!!

Interesting! I'm also taking a stab at this one, only have an instrumental so far. My concern is that the listing says they want material that sounds like the era, folks didn't use autotune back then for industrial rock. Dirtier the better was the norm.

Here's my work so far if you're interested in checking it out, I stayed in a minor key and dropped some public domain samples. Bonus points to anyone who can figure out where they came from.

Hey Bradley!
Great track 8-)

I do agree with what Douglas said. And to me overall the track has a bit of a happy almost pretty feel. The mix needs to hit a bit harder, more nasty, and the vocal melody needs more dirt and more of a tough guy feel as opposed to a nice guy feel. Not sure if this makes sense or is even helpful, but knowing your background I'm pretty sure you know White Zombie pretty good.. tap into that a bit more.

Again the track is great, just needs a few little changes.. as I'm writing the tune is still playing in my head, so that's a good thing.
Hope this helps, but more importantly it's just one guys opinion.
