Dobro/Piano mood and genre help needed
Hi all,
I am hoping you can tell me what mood (s) and/or Genre this might fall into? I have a bunch of instrumentals like this but just not sure where they fit.
Thanks for any opinions you can offer!

For moods I'd say it starts out lighthearted, the B section gets a little introspective. All that delay on the dobro makes it kind ambient and atmospheric. I couldn't tell you what it would fall under as far as genre. What are your goals for this?

Thank you for listening eeoo. You ask a very good question regarding goals. My goal was just to try to come up with something cool while collaborating with a friend. I love trying to put the Dobro into places it doesn't usually fit. I also thought the music ended up sounding pretty "soundtracky", whatever that means! My friend who played piano on this has had his music in quite a few shows but that was many years ago and things may have been quite different. I am trying much more targeted things now but I hope to find a home for this music as well. I am just listening to some of your music - sounds great!

Hi Doug,
At the start I thought it might have a bit of a dirty southern blues vibe, thinking about a drama set in Louisiana or something. But the Rhodes part is pretty jaunty, and the harmonic language isn't really bluesy, so it doesn't really work for that.
To be honest, as far as Taxi, I think you might find it difficult to find a good genre "fit" for this track. What I would say is keep it (and others like it) in your library and you never know when a library owner might get a different track of yours, then hear this one as well and decide it fills a niche for them.

Hi Doug! You have a cool first name.

Fun quirky track. I bet this could be turned into a modern R&B song with the right beats & bass. With or without lyrics! Both those types of listings pop up on Taxi from time to time.
