First of all, I’d like to compliment the screener who—just like all the staff at Taxi—has once again demonstrated complete competence and attention in considering every aspect of the pieces submitted. In this case, he/she noticed a brief intro in Db followed by the main piece in C. I was aware that I had chosen a somewhat "quirky" introduction, but in my opinion, I don’t think it’s that "jarring."
To me, the unusual element is confined to just a few seconds at the beginning of the track, intended to catch the listener’s attention. After that, everything flows smoothly without any disruptive elements for the subsequent vocal placements in the video production (at least, that was my intention). Besides, Db can be considered as a substitute for the dominant G in the key of C, so I don’t think I opted for a particularly "harsh" solution: if you start with a little "tension" on the dominant and then you fall into the main key, it's not so "punk" (the rest of the song is absolutely without "surprises").
In any case, I respect the screener’s decision, however… if he/she eventually feel like reconsidering… thank you!
P.S. I can change the intro in less than 10 minutes. Even 5 (just gimme the time to change and mixdown again).
Chill, I'm good. Hugs to 396 and Taxi community
