Hi everyone,
I gave Mary the lyrics for this and after some tweaking Mary came up with this. We're looking for feedback on lyrics and melody before we look for someone to add piano to the track. Thanks for the listen and constructive criticism.
"Jesus Heals Every Pain"

(v1)
Are you holding on to hurt? Let it go
Every scar, every tear - He already knows
When the sorrow’s unrelenting
And your pillow’s stained from tears
He is near, He will ease your pain
(Chorus
Jesus heals, every pain
That you feel inside - every wound, every cry, every shame
He will change your life
Just come as you are, he wants your heart
When you call on His name
Jesus heals every pain
(Verse 2)
You don’t have to feel alone when the tears start to roll
Fear and doubt will fade when you’re in His arms
Just give your heart to Jesus He will make you whole
He restores, every broken soul
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
When you’re lost, when you fall
Give it all, give it all
In His hands, there is peace
There is hope, there is healing

Hey Darin, good to see you posting on the forums again. You're in good hands with Mary - she's a friend of mine, and sounds like she's got you off to the races with this song.
I'm not extremely well-versed on CCM music, though many years ago I did occasionally fill in on bass with a praise band when their usual bass player was unavailable. And in the very few occasions that girlfriends would take me to their churches over the years, I got a little exposure to this type of music. From my limited experience, this sounds right in the pocked of what I would expect to hear, and sounds like it belongs in that realm - from the lyrics to the chords to the timing of vocals. So bravo on all of that. I've got nothing more to offer you guys, ha!
I'm excited to hear the finished product though. A great pianist will really bring this to life - ohh, and don't forget the lush synth pads too.... that seems to be a staple of the genre.
Good luck to you guys!

Thanks for the kind words and affirmation, it means alot coming from you. I really like the melody Mary has for this.

If we want this in a "band" format, we can do real drums here - my husband is a drummer and we have a studio for tracking. If we could get feedback on lyric/melody and then we can move forward with instrumentation. I've heard different styles in my head - when I play the acoustic with it, it takes on a country vibe, lol, but I think in my head I was hoping for more of a Bethel/Hillsong/Chris Tomlin vibe. Warm pad in the background, low toms, light acoustic and keys, and I imagine electric in there, too. Darin - I'm not sure how far you wanted to go with all of that - was this meant to be a pitch to an artist and they would do the instrumentation?
