Hello
I appreciate anyone who takes time out to listen. I'm so stoked to be a part of Taxi. Even tough I haven't received a placement, my attempts are getting better. I'm a bass player out of the Detroit area...FYI.
Some of the listings ask for full pop song ideas with a male or female vocal. Here is my attempt. Feedback is appreciated. Thank you in advance!!

Re: Modern Pop/Funk Opportunity
Hey there,
Nice track. I love the Detroit Motown/Funk sound, really nice!
-First thing is, and I say this as a fellow bass player who tends to mix the bass too hot...I think your bass is a bit too hot
Just my opinion, others can tell me I'm very wrong.
-Also, I'm working on a track for the instrumental version of this listing, and I'm struggling with the balance between pop and funk/soul. The reason I say this is because I think yours is much further along the funk spectrum, and I might be a bit concerned that they say it's not pop enough. Everything about it, from the harmonic language, to the groove, the vocal style, to the structure (there's no verse/chorus/bridge) is all very funk (which is awesome!) but I'm not sure if they'll tell you it needs to have more pop influences.
-It's a pretty long track and it gets repetitive after a while. I don't know how long the listing asks for but this track doesn't develop or change enough to warrant being this long imo. A good rule of thumb is that you never really need more than about 8 bars of one thing. If you come back to that same thing later, there should be *something* different about it.
Just my two cents, for whatever that's worth!
