Listing:
Lots of ODD-METER POP/ROCK SONGS (in a wide range of styles) with Male or Female Vocals are needed by an EXCLUSIVE Music Library with an incredibly long list of placements on TV and Major Motion Pictures, many of which were secured with TAXI members' music!
They're on the lookout for Songs in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:
"symptom of life" by WILLOW
"Everything In Its Right Place" by Radiohead
"I Went Dancing With My Sister" by Sufjan Stevens
"Goliath" by Karnivool
"Animals" by Muse
Please submit original and well-crafted Songs with odd meters or unorthodox time signatures! This Company is looking for a wide range of sounds and styles, including Pop, Rock, Indie, Folk, etc. Meters such as 5/4, 7/4, 7/8, 9/8, 11/8, 13/8, and others like them could all work, so long as your Song has that slightly off-kilter vibe that you get from listening to these types of Songs. Your submissions should have memorable melodies, creative rhythms, excellent musicianship, solid arrangements, and well-written lyrics. Instrumentation in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the references (and other similar Songs) will work best. If you choose to use any virtual instruments or samples, please ensure that they are high-quality and not dated-sounding. Well-performed and compelling vocal deliveries (Male or Female) are needed as well!
Lyrics should avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.
AI ALERT: This company does not accept or sign music that has been lyrically or melodically composed using generative AI, nor does it accept backing tracks, full instrumental tracks, or vocal performances created with AI.
IMPORTANT! Per our client, your Submissions must:
1) NOT be encumbered by ANY other publishing, licensing, administration, and/or exploitation deals (whether non-exclusive or exclusive) including publishing/licensing agreements with CD Baby Pro, TuneCore, DistroKid, etc.
2) Be 100% original – no soundalikes, Covers, and no recordings with samples.
This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so the material you submit for this request CANNOT be signed with other publishers or catalogs. Sync fees will be split 50/50. The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity, and you need to be affiliated with a Performing Rights Organization for this company to include your music in their catalog. Please submit as many Songs as you'd like, online or per CD. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025. TAXI # S250326DM
TAXI # S250326DM
This one was a real "Hail Mary" -Although I wrote the song and control the master, I recorded this track with an old band many many years ago! Sometimes it is worth gambling that 5 bucks I suppose! lol

Cool track!
419 was right, that one goes all over the place metrically. I’m usually pretty good at tracking with meter changes but that one stumped me. Well done, good luck with it!

Re: Odd Meter track forward
Thanks man! It's a weird one for sure..I think it is 12/8 in some spots, straight 4/4 in others.... "Oddly enough" I wrote it 30 years ago with just my electric guitar and an Alesis HR-16 drum machine in "Step Mode" (I dont think there was any other way to program patterns on that thing outside of straight 4/4!) Anyone remember those hunks of krap?? lol

Wow! What a blast from the past, and go on ya to still have the song around all these years later!!BradleyHagen wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 8:55 amThanks man! I think the first drum machine I ever used was an HR-16. They had one in the band room in high school and the band director Mr. Shook (no lie - that was his name) used to let me take it home and use it. My first studio was that (borrowed), a cassette four track, and a Roland Juno Alpha 1.
But the little music from that period that remains is certainly not up to stuff to submit for a listing.
Congratulations Brad!
