Feedback on Father/Daughter Listing

Post by GregHarris » Fri Apr 11, 2025 9:48 pm

Hi all!

Joined a long time ago but recently submitted my first song for a listing for the Father/Daughter listing below. I saw someone else posted for feedback as well but their link wasn’t working. I was hoping to hear that one.

I wrote this song for my daughter’s wedding that was a few weeks ago. I wanted to surprise her for our dance. After it was done I just happened to notice the listing looking for exactly the type of song I did. I submitted it and it was returned. The only feedback was that the “Chorus doesn't stand out enough”. I’d love some feedback on what you think. I thought it was perfect for the listing and thought I’d at least get a forward. Please take a listen and let me know your thoughts. You guys have been submitting a lot longer than me. On a side note, there were over 100 people there and not a dry eye. It was a highlight of my life!

Here’s SoundCloud link since come people have trouble with the TAXI one.

Here's the listing text

QUOTING THE FILM'S PRODUCER: "This is for a Faith Based Feature Film set in the South, and we're looking for a thematic match to the reference about a father/daughter and time slipping away. Songs should have similar instrumentation, style, and tempo."

NOTE: Since this is a Faith-based Film, we think lyrics that incorporate faith-based themes or ideas could potentially work here, but they are not required!

Please submit well-crafted Contemporary Christian or Adult Contemporary Songs with a sentimental sound and lyrical themes about a Father/Daughter relationship! This Film Producer is looking for songs that capture the honest, heartfelt, and tear-jerking lyrics that showcase a father's love. They're also looking for an element that references ideas such as time slipping away, life moving quickly, a daughter becoming independent, never missing a moment, etc.

Emotionally-impactful choruses, solid arrangements, engaging rhythms, and expressive, well-performed Male vocals are all needed for this request. Instrumentation and production in the general wheelhouse of the reference will suit your submissions best, such as acoustic guitar, piano, drums, bass, strings, etc. Please ensure any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and very realistic. Vocal performances with an emotionally captivating delivery will go a long way here!

Yeah I think it's well done but if they were looking for a big chorus I would agree this doesn't really have that. Nice work nonetheless and sounds like it got the most important job done!

Like others said, I think it's a good track but the chorus could be bigger. Other than that, I really like the demo production. I checked out the rest of your tracks on your Soundcloud page and really like them alot. Can I send you a private message?
