Please review my alt rock cue, deadline is soon

Post by TLovato » Mon May 19, 2025 8:57 pm

Lots of MODERN ALT-ROCK INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a great Publisher with a super-impressive list of really BIG placements in Major-brand TV Commercials and TV shows!

This Publisher is hunting for several Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals in the general wheelhouse of the following examples:

"It's Amazing To Be Young" by Fontaines DC https://youtu.be/MjI1L0dBAVI?feature=shared&t=82

"So Cold" by Balu Brigada https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghTVa3-5PTg

"Metaverse" by Cage The Elephant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ahYmrwRHNA

Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch.

Please submit modern Alternative Rock Instrumentals with great energy and a captivating sound that could work well for advertising and commercial placements! Your submissions should have engaging rhythms, infectious motifs, great production, solid musicianship, dynamic arrangements with forward development, and be mainstream enough to stay accessible to a fairly broad audience - you'd be wise to avoid anything too dark or aggressive here! Instrumentation that's in the general ballpark of the references will work best (electric guitar, bass, drums, etc.). Please make sure any virtual instruments or samples you use are high quality and not dated-sounding. Some non-lyrical vocals like "ahs," "woahs," etc., could potentially work here, but are by no means required. Please do NOT submit full vocal Songs for this opportunity.

Submissions should be about 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best for this pitch. Do NOT copy the referenced material in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

AI ALERT: This company won't accept or sign music that has been melodically composed using generative AI, and they don't accept backing tracks or full instrumental tracks created with AI.

The specific deal points will be handled on a case-by-case basis. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity, and you need to be affiliated with a Performing Rights Organization for this company to include your music in their catalog. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025. TAXI # S250522CK

As usual, let me know what you think and what needs to be changed. My goal here was to create a "fourth" reference track. I heard about that on TAXI TV and I thought it was a great way to approach things. Thanks!

Hi! I'm working on the same listing at the moment so I was very curious to hear what you are doing. To my ears it sounds like you are on a different genre a bit. Your track sounds more like garage rock or Hellacopters style action rock or whatever it's called. BUT if you added a bit of twinkly clean guitar with loads of reverb it might take a turn more towarrds the references. Maybe write a topline melody (which you seem to be missing) with that sound? I hear synths in those references too. These are just my two cents and please remember, they come from a Taxi noob! :D

Tommy, it's cool, but in my opinion it's a bit more rock-oriented than the references.
Try adjusting the guitar and drum sounds to be closer to the third reference.
Cheers!
