Jacqueline Taieb Indie Film Replacement

Post by TLovato » Sat Jun 07, 2025 7:30 pm

'60s-STYLE POP/ROCK SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a (up to) $200 Direct-to-Filmmaker/Director Placement in an upcoming Indie Feature Film.

Keep ALL the $$$: Because you'd be licensing directly to the film's Director and not going through a publisher, you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Copyright and Master Recordings, plus you’ll also get 100% of the License Fee and any applicable performance royalties.

The Director would love to find Songs that could work as a replacement for "7:00 AM" by Jacqueline Taïeb, which is currently temped in:

"7:00 AM" by Jacqueline Taïeb - (the part of the song that's currently temped in takes place from 0:12 - 1:15) https://youtu.be/pthTxqRGa48?si=SZpQNjv8gv0dCE3M&t=12

They're NOT searching for clones or soundalikes! Similar tempo, style, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!

Please submit Pop/Rock Songs that embody the spirited, youthful energy and distinctive charm of the classic '60s! Era-appropriate instrumentation in the general ballpark of the reference will work best - think electric guitar, bass, drums, tambourine, and similar elements. Any virtual instruments or samples you use should be high-quality and authentic to the sound of the time. Vocals that genuinely capture the character and tone of '60s Pop/Rock, whether Male or Female, will be key, and a little bit of spirited vocal attitude could help your Song stand out even more. Original Songs only, please!

NOTE: While recently recorded and produced Songs could definitely work here, this filmmaker is also open to authentic Vintage Recordings from the ’60s, give or take a few years!

TAXI Tip: It's often a good idea to match (or be very close to) the tempo of the song that's currently temped in. It can make it easier for the film's editor to place it and can create a sense of familiarity and "comfort" for the person making the final decision as to which track gets selected.

Lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity could make your Songs easier to place. Please do NOT copy the referenced Song or artist in any way, shape, or form. Use the reference only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Era-appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed.

AI ALERT: This company won't accept or sign music that has been lyrically or melodically composed using generative AI, and they don't accept backing tracks, full instrumental tracks, or vocal performances created with AI.

The license fee for this placement is (up to) $200, depending on the ultimate use. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Filmmaker/Director placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Copyright and Master Recording, plus you’ll also get 100% of the License Fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity, and you need to be affiliated with a Performing Rights Organization. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. TAXI # S250607AM

Our submission: https://www.taxi.com/members/PNQZVfSXS0 ... -levesque-

There's not much more time before the deadline closes so I guess I'm not even really looking for a critique, but I'm very proud of what we did here! I got Sierra Levesque to do the vocals, she's a great rock artist from Canada and a very good friend of mine! You guys should definitely google her!

Great job in recreating that 60's vibe and charm! Replacing temped-in tracks is tough when they can already hear exactly what they want but I'd say you're in with a chance. IMHO a few fine tuning tweaks might help though. After listening to the ref I'd want to put the vocal and guitar a little more upfront whilst pushing the organ pad back a bit (and maybe add a touch of Leslie rotary effect to it so it sounds less static). We all hear things differently though so check what others say. Good luck with the submission,
Like it is, and 100% HI
