Extend Deadline Of Listing...

Post by LalyaPars » Thu Jul 17, 2025 2:12 pm

Hi Taxi,

Who do I talk to for an extension of one of your listings? The listing deadline is 23, and I would love it if you could extend it for 5 or 7 more days if possible? The listing number is S250723HH

Taxi rarely extends a deadline, especially not 5-7 days which is huge, so I would assume the answer is NO. They need to keep to a strict schedule to plan the work of screeners and get things to the client on time. And if they did it for one person, they'd get requests from others which would create more problems. You could call Taxi (posting here is not helpful) but I know what the answer would be. We just have to stay on top of deadlines and plan our work accordingly. Hopefully, there will be another listing in the future for similar tracks.

Hmmmm..... what could be the harm in such a simple request?
- Taxi would need to employ a screener longer or later than planned,
- everyone else who submitted on time would be disappointed at having to wait longer for their screening results,
- the library would get all the submissions later than promised, which could sour their relationship with Taxi,
- it would delay the library listening to tracks and offering contracts on the ones they like,
- in turn, that would delay the library prepping tracks for their clients, which risks them missing a deadline for TV project,
- which could lose earnings for that library and its writers, and potentially sour the library's relationship with a music supervisor.
- Finally, if Taxi agreed to an extensions then all members would expect to be able to request them and nothing would get done!

Do you think all of that would be fair and acceptable?

IMHO the sync world (and maybe the rest of the world too) doesn't work like that. Sync is all about meeting deadlines and Taxi mimics how things are beyond its boundaries, so I doubt your request will be granted. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but its how things are.
Like it is, and 100% HI

Hey, thank you for clearing that up. I've misunderstood whenever they put at the bottom of a listing saying 'sorry no extension for this... I thought they meant days...I've emailed Taxi and Liz replied saying 'Listing deadlines can occasionally be extended by a few hours, never 5-7 days, and even then, there is no guarantee a listing can be reopened... now I understand, thank you again :)

Hey, I've misunderstood what they meant in taxi's listing when they put 'sorry no extension for this... and your not being harsh, it's reality what your saying I just misunderstood what they meant by that. Thank you for putting it out there
