If not - maybe it's headed for the record books.

Re: Making significant $ with film/TV music
Haven't posted a lot here I believe, but making $ with film/TV depends on so many things.
I've had 10 seconds placements played 100 times per mon th giving me more backend money than some exclusive upfront fees for a track...
If you get snippets on CNN, FOX of 10 secs, they might end up giving you 4 numbers every quarter.

Re: Making significant $ with film/TV music
Thank you for your helpful summary. Hi, I'm Jen
I hope this is the right spot to post this (I am new to the forums so still learning how it all works).
I have been with taxi 3 years now and debating whether to renew my membership (3 years was my - we'll see how this goes time).
I have done the maths and have sent music to 158 briefs (whilst working full time and looking after a 3 and 5 year old - obvs would have loved to do more if i could have). Bearing in mind, I was a total newbie at the start with no clue what i was doing (so less forwards at the start!) I have now had 26 forwards in total (thats a forward rate of 16%). As an aside, this has cost me 1390 dollars taking into account membership and submission fees.
I have had no placements or heard anything back from anyone anywhere which feels frustrating (the usual shouting into a void that music seems to provide). Despite this, I absolutely love doing this and want to do it every day forever. Reducing or stopping my day job would be the ultimate dream. I mostly write synth-pop & alt-pop (with vocals), cinematic and neoclassical stuff.
Can I ask, is this story relatively standard? Are things likely to pick up? will I get a placement? Am I not churning out enough music perhaps? I am interested to hear that instrumentals do far better and perhaps should focus on that more.
I would love to know everyone's thoughts, personal experience and advise. Thanks
