Question about submitting original vs. instrumental versions of a song

Post by CsFire » Wed Jul 23, 2025 11:27 pm

Hey everyone,

Quick question: If I submit the original version of a track (with vocals) to one exclusive opportunity, can I also submit the instrumental version of that same track to a different exclusive opportunity?

In other words, are the vocal and instrumental versions of a song considered mutually exclusive when it comes to these types of submissions?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Christian

That would be a "No", especially since you'll almost certainly be required to send in the instrumental version along with the full version to whichever publisher you sign with.
