Steel guitarist available

Post by Crispy » Mon Sep 15, 2025 5:20 pm

Hey! I'm Chris Ramey and I have the steel guitar bug.
I play pedal steel in E9 for the most part. C6 is my newest challenge on it.
In order to learn C6 I ended up going down a long road becoming a steel guitarist in the historical sense of "lap steel" and the first electric guitars.
So I play a bunch of different tunings, strings and styles, mostly on pre-war guitars.
I'm studied in country, americana, rock, blues, funk, Hawaiian, reggae, jam, etc.
For samples of my work you can check out my latest album, available on my website: https://chrisrameymusic.com.
I have been a Taxi member for only a few months but have had some forwards in Delta Blues and Acoustic Folk instrumentals.
I'd like to provide parts on steel for your music, if you need it.

pedal steel
lap steel
dobro
resonator
acoustic steel

Good luck out there!

Chris,
I just submitted two songs for the Delta Blues listing that closed on Sept 14. I hope you submitted to that one. I listened to some of your songs and the songs and the recordings sound great!

Hi Randall,
I did get three in for the one closing on the 14th.
Tons of fun to have a reason to deep dive into this style.
Thank you! Good luck!
-Chris

Crispy,

Terrific. I'm sure your three have more chance than my two. I wrote four for the brief, but when they were in their rough form my song coach said two of them weren't working lyrically for a delta blues song. So I improved the two that had potential and submitted them. I'm looking forward to the feedback, even if they don't get forwarded.
