not good

Post by heinsite » Wed Feb 11, 2009 8:28 pm

well, i'm not trying to spoil any party here, but lamenting that i've have 12 returns on my VERY best tunes, though of course i think they are all the best...6 c/w's (3 high marks, 3 pretty high...) and 6 pop/rock stuff, 3 good marks, 3 crappy. many are the same tunes.i'm not asking for anything, this is just a report on a day that is becoming like "groundhog's day" for me all too often.that's it--i accept no pity, it's a tough damn business. just giving the other side of midnight.the best,wh

I hear you Warren, it's really hard when you hit a long R spell. What do the rest of your critiques say? Are the fit with the listings the problem? Remember it's all subjective.... as soon as you see a listing that's a good fit, submit them again. I know when I get a return my instinct is to retire that particular recording, but I usually make myself submit again and often they get forwarded on another occasion. Sometimes a minor tweak is all that's needed. KEEP AT IT!!!!!!!Georgie

Hi Warren. At least you've had SOME forwards! Yeah, I suppose you could go through a list:1. Are the songs good enough? Goes without saying - of course they are! So that rules out number one,2. Are you submitting to the right listings? Can't answer that one, but I'd say you were quite good at reading them by now. So maybe that rules out number two.3. Are the recordings broadcast quality? They sound like it to me.So that rules out number three.4. Did the returns start happening since you posted your new photo? hmmmm! Just kidding! Hope things turn around for you soon.Dave.

Sorry Warren. It could be worse, you could get forwards to dead-end situations (stay-tuned)

thanks georgie i hear you--yeah, i have submitted these many times--seems like i'm going through a 2nd wave of screeners, which is good, but if all of them are saying no go for different reasons (some times the same), well, i guess that's the way it goes.davie--you crack me up and have brought a smile to my face! 1-3 of your posts are of course absolutely true! lOL...so it MUST BE that damn picture. you are a gem over there man..billy-i'll stay tuned!hell, i should apologize for posting that thing here, but i won't--sometimes we all have to be psychiatrists, and you're all i got...ok, let's get outta here with this, and i guess the real test will be my several PUSH attempts, 'cuz if nobody there in that cubicle room can get outta their, well...BOXES..i'm pretty screwed around here....hey i've always dug that tune "around here"the best,wh

Warren,I just got a bunch of returns too. I submitted some stuff I thought was a slam dunk but all R's for me!!I think it boils down to persistence, which, of course you already know, just putting my amateur psychiatrist hat on for a second! That'll be 50 bucks or a bottle of nice red. Hang in there!!Mazz

thanks mazz, i SHOULD SEND THAT! ...and you didn't even say "our time is up"OH, BIG ERROR, THE TUNE I MENTIONE AS *around here* is of course Counting Crow's "Round Here"--i love this tune---and in an odd way, the video/lyrics can pertain to taxi quite accurately--but i do not like the end of the video, no suicide's man, too close to my childhood to believe in THAT! however, it is one helluva song. i wish i knew how to post the video up, but you that know it will look 'er up...i tried to post it below, but i'm not "counting" on it working..LOL...http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/Count ... v36lTesyUv
