Re: vocal techniques
Milfus,Is there a particular style you want to sing? Or are you trying to cover several styles? Judging from some of your posts I get the feeling that hard/heavy rock/metal is more your thing. Ive been singing for 30+ years. Church choir, vocal ensembles, Acoustic gigs, rock bands, metal bands. Blah, blah, blah. All the "training" in the world doesnt make up for straight feel. If you have great pitch, once you master different deliveries and emotions just sing what seems natural to you. If you can sing like Johnny Cash reincarnated then by God sing some Cash!!!Or Chris Cornell or any singer you love. I played in a band a few years back with a drummer who was also a vocalist. "Trained" mind you. Great pipes, perfect pitch all the bells and whistles but when he tried to sing some Grunge or Heavy stuff it was Pavarotti singing with Alice-n-Chains. We made sure he stayed behind the kit.Sing what you feel and feel what you sing!
