This is a really nice piece Lydia. I was just checking out your website. Congrats on the Pendragon gig. That must have been a really stressful/terrifying/great experience. You're a very talented composer, I'm a new fan.B

One thing that Dave W. mentioned in another thread that I think your piece really hits home is "writing for the emotion." I was able to visualize several different scenes as I listened to your piece. One of them being a slow motion battle sequence as one army is vastly undermanned and is losing ground quickly. I think this will find a home for sure!- Big BlueI was just about to write virtually the same things:that I pictured an army rising in fog for an early morning, weary last assaultthat I could learn a lot from this forward in the category of "Nail a mood and STAY THERE," which I know for me -- and I think a lot of TAXI members -- is a big adjustment when writing for film/TV. This work is all about being useful in support of the visuals, period.Good job and congratulations!

Coming from a background of writing music for stage performance I am still working on the "nail a mood and stay there" concept - but I think this is one of my better ones. Thanks for sharing what you pictured as you heard it. It is interesting (and pretty cool) that you and Big Blue pictured very similar things. I picture a couple of men, in a fantasy setting like Lord of the Ring or something like that, riding in to a village that has been burned to the ground. As this music plays they have dismounted their horses and are slowly walking through the village looking around, wondering what happened there - who caused this sorrow and destruction.
