ck out FAST songwriting on Pro Tools

Post by ollie » Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:14 am

This is an amazing video of a songwriter using Pro Tools. Helped me alot. Starts with just a acoustic gtr idea, and in minutes, has added bass, a full drum kit and recorded the guitar tracks and has pretty much arranged the song.http://youtube.com/watch?v=c8q_6nhka-Mh ... wrEDgucAAs an FYI.

This gentleman obviously knows his stuff! One of the biggest hurdles that I've dealt with is figuring out a way to use ProTools LE in a way that is comfortable to me. Whether to play the drum parts on keyboard, plug in a drum machine, use loops, hire a real drummer, etc are all individual choices that can be overwhelming at times. The use of a template with kick, snare, ride, hi-hat hits allready loaded for copying and pasting is a very clever way to approach the process. There's a lot of food for thought in those two videos. Thanks for sharing them.Steve
