Replies pertaining to submitted material

Post by socalboy75 » Wed Nov 28, 2007 2:28 pm

Hello, all! I'm looking for clarity about Taxi's response policy to an artist who has submitted material. A. Does Taxi notify an artist who has submitted material that their work has been declined or forwarded on? What would an average response time be for either of these scenarios?

Hey socalboy,First, welcome to the forum. And yes, if you submitted material via TAXI, you will get a response one way or the other. If you submitted by mail, you will get a forward or decline postcard and possibly a critique from the screener unless the listing stated YES/NO basis only. The response time varies depending on how many submissions were received and when the cutoff date was for submission. I'm sure this topic has been discussed somewhere before in great detail so you may have to do a little detective work.I would say a two-four week period before you her back is a good rule of thumb. But it may be sooner if the submissions were light for the listing. In closing, you will absolutely hear back from TAXI.Best of luck,Cisco

I forgot to mention that if you submit online (free!) you will hear back online via e-mail.

Yep - Cisco's 100% right. The only thing I want to add is that even if you're submitting thru the mail, as long as they have your email address, you get your forwarded/not forwarded notices via email. You only receive a postcard if you are doing everything via snail mail, which you're obviously not, considering the fact you're online here at the forums! Once the due date is past, it's typically 3 weeks give or take a week before you get the email. Except with Dispatches. Dispatch is another level of service that TAXI offers for people in the industry that have listings (typically music for indi films & television music) for when they need music much faster than the typical turn around time. With dispatch listings, you usually know within 3 days after the due date. Welcome to TAXI and the forums, solcal!cb
