Should I offer a new mix?

Post by avillaronga » Tue Nov 27, 2007 3:16 pm

Hi, I'm looking for some advice in handling a situation with a library (seems like a lot of us got contacted today!!). The two pieces they are interested in were forwarded in September, since then, I have made changes to the mix and I think they sound much better now. Should I offer to send a new mix to the library? Obviously they like the old mixes or they wouldn't have contacted me but I feel the songs have a much better chance of being placed with the newer mixes... what do you think? ThanksAntonio

Give them the old and the new if they are interested in the new mix.

ThanksAntonioSure, tell them you worked on the mix and think it sounds better now, ask if they wanna hear it. Most probably they will. There's absolutely no problem doing something like this. The ONLY thing you wanna stay away from is arguing with them if the like the old mix better. Or if they prefer not to hear the new one, which is rather unlikely.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the advice, the last thing I want to do is seem unprofessional on my first contact with this particular company so I thought I better check with the experts here first. Thanks!Antonio

Ditto what Matt said, with an emphasis on the last part.Let them be the judge of what they like.Cisco
