Proof of what an un-cool and clueless dweeb I am...I have no idea what NAMM is or stands for.But I can tell you flat-out, I'd go ANYWHERE that NARAS wanted to send me. Very cool. Have a great time. But you KNOW that, without ALL the dots being there with you, it is bound to be a big let-down. Ted

From Wikipedia -"The NAMM Show is one of the largest music products trade shows in the world. Held every January in Anaheim, California, USA the show brings together all facets of the music products industry to reveal new musical instruments/products and ideas to help music products retailers and manufacturers become more successful. The NAMM Show is not open to the general public. The acronym NAMM originally stood for the National Association of Music Merchants, but has evolved from a national entity representing the interests of music products retailers to an international association including both commercial, retail members and affiliates. Therefore, the long form of the name is no longer used, and it is simply known as NAMM, the International Music Products Association. The association's other show, Summer NAMM, will hosted by Nashville, TN at the end of July, 2008. The smaller summer show is approximately one third the size of the NAMM Show and focuses more on industry meetings and professional development courses than products. Both shows are known for their celebrity attendees and performances, as well as a multitude of parties and showcases from NAMM and its exhibitors."Instrument vendors traditionally have their high profile endorsees come make appearances at their booths. You never know who you might see at these events...It's the convention that makes you wish you were rich enough to buy everything you see. It's worse than a kid in a candy store...

Ah, I get it.This is a show for gear junkies or, to quote a post on these boards..."gear lust".for someone like myself, who knows nothing about gear or home recording, I can only say, "have fun".But that's one of my goals for the next year...to learn more about home-recording.You MAY have just created a monster. It's alive. Do you hear me, ALIVE!! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha...Ted
