Quote:Paul Potts rocks. I had never considered listening to opera until I stumbled across this video a few weeks back. Now I am interested in listening to more of himThe great thing about Potts is that he'll draw some people in who never liked opera. I read an article recently that some 'opera snobs' (that was their term not mine), were trashing Potts. They didn't like him because they felt he was cheapening opera and drawing the 'wrong crowd in.' Yet, I bet it's those same folks who complain because they feel no one cares about opera. I think they should be thankful for Paul Potts. He's got a CD out now, although I don't know the name of it, and I know I shouldn't post the name of it here anyway.

Hi Chits,We grew up in the same environment... opera and classical from mom, and cannonball adderley, getz and miles from dad... if you haven't already, grab the libretto for Madama Butterfly, especially the third act... I've listened to it so many times I can recite it in both English and Italian. ( note recite.... my voice sounds like scolded cat). Getting opera music playing over the weekend could have a double edged effect--- 1. you enjoying it 2. possibly shorten the in- law visit ( only kidding, LOL)Have a great day!

Somebody sent me a link to this video clip several months ago and I return to it regularly, just for the chills it still gives me. I WOULD tell you guys how it made me cry, but that news -coming from me- is starting to lose its impact. Ted

My husband teared up over it, although he swore it was just 'allergies.'

I think if that video does not get you a little teary eyed, then you need to have a heart transplant.

Wow. That is very inspiring. It does come a little as a shock...at least for me, I was not expecting that level of performance.
