Strike or no strike...
I'm still in production. Since I'm writing, directing, and producing, am I supposed to strike against myself?

First strike against yourself, then be a scab and then blacklist yourself from ever working for yourself again.

I say you do a 24 hour walk on the line then settle with yourself showing good faith on both sides (left and right). Then tell the rest of the industry how you are a pioneering leader and that they need to follow your example.

Just bear in mind that while you are striking you can't write any press releases about your cause, because those writers have to show solidarity. But submitting yourself to arbitration, especially if Arno will do it, seems a good move. Also, consider contacting the local television stations, and point out that you can fill some of the dead air time with a live debate, where you (extemporaneously, of course) argue both sides--one from each side of your mouth.

It does bring to mind the question that if the strike gets prolonged and they have to stop making shows, then the demand for placements will drop.... Yuck..... this business is tough enough already.... wonder if there'll be any notable drop in Taxi listings next week....

you can bet up here in Hollywood North (Vancouver, Canada), all the writers are drooling. the demand for placements isn't gonna drop, all those shows that need music will still need music after the strike is over.Quote:It does bring to mind the question that if the strike gets prolonged and they have to stop making shows, then the demand for placements will drop....
