Quote:Any of you guitar gurus visit ed romans guitars on the web? There are some beauties on his site. Theres also quite a bit of knowledge about how to pick out a guitar. It's a fun site if ya wanna check it out. Hi Scott,I used to visit that site often - lots of eye-candy I eventually commissioned one of Ed Roman's Quicksilvers. It's a great guitar and very unique. Send me a PM if you want more in-depth info.-Allen

Thanks Steve. I've been working on setting up a new Mac with ProTools and my head blew up, so, I've been recovering.Allen, I went back and reread page 1. I had missed your post with the quicksilver pic. It looks tasty. I wanted to get one myself, but I like to play a guitar first before I buy, and since Ed is in Vegas.... ROADTRIP! No, I bought a nice PRS here. It sounds great, but I bet for the same price I could've bought a Quicksilver.I was one of those guys that started playing guitar because ... it might help me pick up Chits...er...Chicks. I wish I had really applied myself a bit more. Who knows where that could have led. Oh well, I still can play pretty decently, I just got to keep on keeping on. It's never too late to learn more.

The huge heal from Hell on a PRS may help in that regard. I prefer the looks of a Quicksilver over a PRS. The sleeker Quicksilver shape has been referred to as "a PRS in italics". -Allen

Here is a pretty good site for listening to some now obscure guitar players. First time I ever heard Thumbs Carlisle, though I had heard a lot about him.I have still never heard Buster B. Jones.Have fun.http://www.geocities.com/bighollowtwang/Hall.html

Buster does a lot of courses on various picking styles at guitarvideos.com (Stefan Grossman's site). You can see video clips there, if they'll play on your dino computer.

Here's my 2 cents on the guitar thread...Long story as short as possible:I'm a huge fan of Sidney Crosby, who plays for my team the Pittsburgh Penguins. His Junior Team was the Rimouski Oceanic, which uses blues/white for color. Since my guitar was a dark blue, this made sense for the scheme.I work in a sign shop as a designer, and we cut vinyl using plotter and computer. I designed this layout (could have done more but was in hurry) and applied it to my guitar, then clear coated it. Makes it custom, since I can't afford paint jobs. Its an ESP baritone Viper...and I get bored pretty easy.

Very nice. Love it.I had a fender strat once that had a collage of playboy playmates covering its entire body front and back. Rventually I put it on consignment with a local music store. The store told me David Grissom bought it for his then teenage son.
