@jewel:general rules:http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... 073943564I also remember the rule not to post company names, however, I can't find it right now.library: well, you can find a lot infos here:* youtube, taximusic: interviews with matt hirt* I think there are several faq's on the board as well as on taxi.comwhen signing a deal, the advice is pretty much the same as if you sign any other contract:* know what the contract really means - get an attourney who *explains* it to you rather than someone just say "yes" or "no". library deals are often not that complicated.* if you want to learn more about it, read a good book about music right/business (there are several mentioned on taxi.com)cheers,martin

Re: library
Thanks for your reply, Martin. I had read the rules you mentioned at taxi.proboards, but didn't see anything on company names, so that's why I asked...didn't want to violate any protocols my first day on the forum. Thanks, also, for the music library advice and references. I had already cruised the taxi site and past newsletter links, along with some industry books, but had not thought to try youtube yet. And the more information I have, the better, since a lot of my current effort is toward producing music for tv, film, and related music libraries.Jewel

Re: library
jewel, your welcome;) posting company names: I can't exactly recall where it was but I'm sure that mr. laskow asked us to not post comp. names.the reason was that a few members where so enthuisastic about their forward that they posted the company names - and a few other bombed the companies with their demos.... ouch.
