3 for 3 Sports Instrumental

Post by devin » Wed Dec 10, 2008 8:41 am

...and just last night my wife asked me about these $15 charges on ye 'old credit card. First two songs feature my guitar collaborator from the last 24 years, Terry (he's 500 miles away too...thank you internet!):"Offside And Proud"http://www.taximusic.com/stream/184792/ ... oud.mp3"On The Line"http://www.taximusic.com/stream/176575/ ... ine.mp3And here Marc Blackwell and I managed to fall across the line with our tune again:"One Minute Penalty"http://www.taximusic.com/stream/184793/ ... alty.mp3So here's a lesson that I've learned: NAME ALL MY SONGS STARTING WITH THE LETTER "O". Here's the customer's specifications:HIGH ACTION/SPORTS INSTRUMENTALS for various Film/TV placements are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA and more. These instrumentals can be in a variety of styles, but they must sound current and contemporary. You'll want to think of sports highlights, exciting features of extreme sports, adrenaline-pumping advertisements, etc. If you take an orchestral approach here, it's suggested that it be blended with current-sounding instruments with "edge". These tracks need to be compelling dynamically, without a lot of motive/melodic repetition. Variation and momentum/build will be key for this one! Broadcast quality is necessary, though excellent home recordings should be fine. Please submit 1-3 Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than November 20, 2008. TAXI #Y081120SI

Thanks Tim...let's hope there are enough car crashes and home runs for all our tunes to get used! And sometimes I think Marc has to play these songs in his car, just to get to all the appointments. Jeff: thanks again...I'm programming my brain to create a bed track that deserves one of your wailin' harp solos all over it (I'm glad you're good enough that I wouldn't be restricted to the key of C either!).Hiya Suz! I'll see you at the bookstore, trying to buy just the one encyclopedia before the printed version goes Obsolete. Thanks fusilierb...I've learned about half of my production skills since joining this forum 8 months ago. I'm seeing 7's and 8's on my critiques still (when a critique is provided). As for the guitar chops...well, somedays I think those two guys were born with it.
