Distribution

Post by smoothjaye » Sun Apr 15, 2007 4:16 am

I have a company that I've formed over two years ago, and initially it was to be a label. Now, I've done some rethinking and decided to become a distribution company. However, I don't know what exactly what my role should be. Can someone help me with info? Thanks

You might start with figuring out who you will distribute to and how. Are you intending to compete with CD Baby? Or are you going to place stuff in stores?

@smoothjaye:I don't want to be rude, but honestly: you want to be a distributer and don't know what YOUR role as such is? that doesn't sound really reliable to me...I'd suggest that you first learn how the music business works and which player does what.
