Poor sound quality of Broadjam Player?

Post by coxnvox » Fri Feb 02, 2007 5:37 am

Has anyone else been disappointed in the way their music sounds coming through the Broadjam playback device? When I A-B the exact same file in iTunes and Broadjam, the Broadjam file has warble and artifacts that aren't in the file when played in iTunes. It's kinda discouraging to know that the critiquers aren't hearing my music at its best.I'm not comparing a compressed file versus a non-compressed...the file is an MP3 created at 44.1 k and 192 kbps vbr, but when played through Broadjam it loses a lot.Anyone else notice this? Thanks, kerry

Well, after a little research, it seems that it may have to do with the fact that it is streaming, perhaps? My settings for the player are set to broadband and I have a fairly fast connection, but I'm guessing that the sound quality still suffers in whatever process is used to stream the file? I'm totally guessing here...can anyone offer any concrete knowledge?Later, kerry

I've had a similar problem in the past, and it was the Firewall on my PC that was creating it. Turn it off if you have one. Also, Broadjam has techies that will help if you phone them.Good luck!Ern
